Note: “La continuación” (written in 1959 by the Argentine writer Silvina Ocampo) is a farewell letter that turns into a short story, in which the life of the protagonist, a writer, eventually becomes intertwined with her own creation. The letter looks back with harshness and detachment on the key moments of her married life, where only the act of turning them into fiction, whether through duplication or plagiarism, seems to have a healing effect. The ‘continuation’ of the title is that which links reality and creation, death and life. It is the border, the open wound we plunge into: fleeing to save ourselves.

La continuación (écrit en 1959 par l’écrivaine argentine Silvina Ocampo) est une lettre d’adieu se transformant en conte, où la vie de la protagoniste, écrivaine, finit par se confondre avec sa propre création. La lettre revient avec dureté et détachement sur les moments clés de sa vie conjugale, dont seule la mise en fiction, sa duplication ou son plagiat, semble avoir un effet réparateur. La continuation du titre est celle qui relie le réel et la création, la mort et la vie. C’est la frontière, la blessure ouverte dans laquelle on s’engouffre : se sauver pour se sauver.
